Decolonization in public health isn’t something “nice to have.” It’s imperative.
As a PhD candidate studying population health, well-being, and social justice, I have a complicated relationship with the institutions of science and public healthcare.
I’m an applied mixed-methods researcher, which means I believe science shouldn’t sit untouched on metaphorical shelves: it should be used as a living, breathing tool to create evidence-based interventions by and for the communities that need them most.
